the dream fading
as I tell it
--BILL KENNEY
Votes:641*** Points:17
Comments:Lovely haiku, but I wonder if it would be even stronger if the second line would be: the dream fading

--Jacek Margolak; Poland
Votes:13**** Points:07
Comments:I'd generally advise against having a verb stand alone as line 3, but this time, coming after the rather crabbed (pun

intended) second line, it works.

Comments: I would use in rather than on my room in second line.

19
orchard dawn

birdsong
--Bouwe
Votes:4*2*** Points:10
Comments:I actually preferred #19 to a couple of these, but didn’t vote for it because “dawn” and “twilight” both were mentioned in the

same moment. If “twilight” had been eliminated, it would have been a strong haiku rather than a confusing one.

  2. I really like the third line of the third place haiku: "bougainvillea buds"

I love bougainvillea, probably because it doesn't grow where I live. I associate the plant with warm, tropical places. When I see it, I know I am on vacation.
