#10 FIRST PLACE
autumn wreath
the dried sunflower
feeds a blackbird
--Marleen Hulst; The Netherlands
Votes:841*** Points:19
Comments:The notion that the “sunflower displayed in the wreath contributes to the longevity of a blackbird’s life by serving as food emphasizes the cyclic nature of the universe and the life forms found there.

#22 SECOND PLACE
New Year’s dawn…
on the top of the garbage
a Christmas wreath
--Magdalena Dale - Romania
Votes:641*** Points:17
Comments:

#15 THIRD PLACE
father's funeral...
the lily wreath
full of life
--Jacek Margolak; POLAND
Votes:313*** Points:14
Comments:The juxtaposition of the dead (line 1) and the living “lily wreath / full of life” (lines 2-3)is meaningful. However, ironically, the lily used in the wreath, is also destined to the same kind of expiration of life as the “father” in line 1.

  1. CKK welcomes Patrick Druart, Patricia Lidia, Michael Andrew

26 poems were submitted to CKK 19; unfortunately poems 25 and 26 were received when voting had already begun and so were not eligible for votes.

One player did not send in a vote; and William Kenny, was asked to submit an 'invitee vote' which he did, Thanks again Bill.
